Jon Sasaki - makes me laugh
Statement
This work mixes humor and pathos, often with gently antagonistic results. Cynicism, futility and tragedy are taken as starting points, then countered with dry, comic delivery. Often structured like the familiar “shaggy dog joke,” much of this work is a deadpan escalation of expectations, followed by an anticlimactic punch line. It is a celebration of futility and resignation.

Tweed Rides
I just discovered this event the other day. Am I the last to know? Tweed rides are happening everywhere - you name it...Eugene, Portland, San Franciso, Toronto and more.
Events are organized by local community members and everyone interested gathers and goes on a little cruise together. The resurgance and popularity of fixed-gear and single-speed bicycles has created abit of a subculture of tweed. Grab your Harris Tweed jacket and head out for a styling ride.

The Gentlewoman

The idea of a magazine which celebrates women on their remarkability rather then their celebrity works for me. This is a magazine about interesting people. It's strikingly simple and elegant. The stories are not run-of-the-mill profiles. Refreshing actually.

Les Robes Geographique - Elizabeth Lecourt
Let everything unfold as it will or rather as Elizabeth Lecourt does - fold as she wills it. For three years now, the French-born, London-based artist develops map-garments that travel around the world to be presented in various galleries. Besides some other artwork by Elisabeth Lecourt, the current paper collection was presented at Berendsen Gallery in Rotterdam and the Foss Fine Art Gallery in London
